Q: Where are you from originally?
A: I was born in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, and moved to the U.S. – specifically Rockford – in ’99. I bounced around the Midwest a little after college, but finally made my way back to Rockford a little over a year ago.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?/Any hobbies?
A: Is commuting a hobby? I commute. My carpool karaoke is on point. I also absolutely love to go wake boarding up at Lake Geneva with my grandpa, sister and brother-in-law (which is usually followed by the best Eggs Benedict I have ever tasted! Shout out Daddy Maxwell’s Diner).
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: How can you limit someone like this?! Here are my top picks: Seafood–anything raw, but if it has to be cooked, scallops; then other favorites are beets and pinot noir.
Q: Do you cook – if so, what is your specialty?
A: Thankfully my mom instilled cooking in me at a young age! She NEVER used a recipe! One of my favorite things to make is borscht, but my specialty is pelmeni, which are a sort of a Ukrainian dumpling topped with sour cream. My spicy chili salmon is also seriously boogy-worthy!
Q: Do you have any pets?
A: Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt aka Mr. President and Amelia “Emmie” Earhart are my two cats. But, I take my dog aunt duties very seriously – Reggie is my sister’s handsome 9-month old Golden Retriever.
