Q: Where are you from originally?
A: I was born and raised for most of my childhood in Laguna Niguel, California. In middle school, I moved to Big Sky, Montana, and in high school, I moved back and forth every year between California and Montana, eventually finishing out my high school career in Bozeman, Montana. Montana is still one of my favorite places, nothing like the secluded mountains. Eventually, I made my way East to Rockford, Illinois, and met my wife at our church. That was about 12 years ago, and we’ve been here ever since!
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: Hobbies? I feel like I have too many hobbies – haha! Well, really that I pick a new one up every year. Woodworking, photography, leatherworking, sewing, candle making, remodeling our house (to name a few recent ones)… I guess I really enjoy learning new things and making things with my hands. When I’m not trying to learn something new, I’m spending quality time with my wife and son, which is BY FAR my favorite!
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: I’m pretty sure I got spoiled on great Mexican food growing up about an hour and a half from the Mexican border, so simple tacos are my everyday go to. Sushi for special occasions.
Q: Do you cook – if so, what is your specialty?
A: I used to cook a lot more, but I can make a pretty awesome chicken quesadilla, burger, or batch of guacamole. I also jumped on the “making your own artisan bread train” last year, so that is pretty tasty.
Q: Do you have any pets?
A: We have a 5-month-old son…no time for other living things yet – haha!
